چکیده

This work aims to prepare and characterize the unburned carbon obtained from gasification residues evaluate its application as an adsorbent for removal of textile dye contaminants. The results physical chemical properties showed a specific mass 2.05 g/cm3, surface area 23.983 g/cm2, diameter pore volume 0.844 nm 2.262 cm3/g, respectively. These properties, along with point zero charge bonds present on surface, favored adsorption cationic dyes. great potential methylene blue, crystal violet, basic fuchsin if compared bromocresol green, indigo carmine. maximum values blue were up 99% kinetic was faster at beginning process, reaching equilibrium in less than 5 min. through isotherms capacity 333.33 476.19 mg/g, temperature 291 328 K, satisfactory that use is cost-effective eco-friendly alternative reusing residue also contributes decontamination watercourses.

Effect of activation factors on adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue, by activated bentonite

The aim of this investigation was to study the relationship between activation factors and adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue MB, by activated bentonite. The adsorption index was investigated as a function of acid type, time and temperature. A commercial bentonite was selected as a starting material and the effect of heat treatment on MB adsorption were determined in a batch setup. Thou...

Corrosion in coal gasification atmospheres

Corrosion of metallic materials by coal gasification atmospheres has been the subject of extensive study for over 20 years. While many alloys were found to be resistant to attack by high moisture content gases representative of fluidized bed gasifiers at temperatures up to 900 OC, good resistance could not be sustained for more than a few thousand hours as a result of changes in the structure a...

Chars from gasification of coal and pine activated with K2CO3: acetaminophen and caffeine adsorption from aqueous solutions.

The high carbon contents and low toxicity levels of chars from coal and pine gasification provide an incentive to consider their use as precursors of porous carbons obtained by chemical activation with K2CO3. Given the chars characteristics, previous demineralization and thermal treatments were made, but no improvement on the solids properties was observed. The highest porosity development was ...

From quartz hazard to quartz risk: the coal mines revisited.

Following the classification of quartz as a human carcinogen by the IARC, many standard-setting committees are currently trying to convert this hazard into their national or EU standards. Since human data to set a safe exposure limit for quartz are limited, we hypothesized that lung burden data on quartz in coal miners' lungs after lifetime exposure could be used to set a non-carcinogenic lung ...
